Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Programme
(In collaboration with the Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran, Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia)
This certificate course is aimed at establishing coordinated skills training system attuned to the country’s development goals and needs. It is also meant to promote the development of skills training as well as to certify skills competence in the area of hospitality, tourism and services industry.
This intensive programme emphasize on the basic theory and practical aspects of the specific area of study with special attention provided for knowledge, skills and right attitude acquisition.
This intensive course is aimed at producing knowledgeable and skillful workforce with the right attitude who will acquire the necessary competency standards to enter the job market specifically for the hospitality, tourism and services industries.
Trainees who satisfactorily complete this programme should be able to:
- Acquire the basic knowledge on the specific area of study which will enhance his overall ability.
- Obtain the suitable skills to enable him to perform the duties and tasks required in his area of work effectively.
- Possess the right attitude to enable him to perform his duties efficiently.
- Practical Sessions
- Work Attachment
- Group Activities (e.g. field visits)
- PMR/SPM/UEC Certificate holders for Malaysian candidates.
- Pass SPM (6 subjects) for Tourist Guide course.
- Foreign Students: High School Certificate (e.g. ‘O’ Level or SMA or SMU 2/3)
This course is offered in collaboration with the Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK) under the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia. After successfully completing the competency tests conducted by verifiers, apprentices will be awarded the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) or the Malaysian Skill Certificate (MSC) Level 1, 2 or 3. The Centre for Professional Development and Life Long Learning (CPDLLL) will also give a ‘Certificate of Achievement’.

SKM Course Application Procedure
STEP 1: Applicant to fill up Application/Registration Form (photo-stated IC, High School Certificate, (4) Passport-Sized Photograph & Application/Registration
Fee – RM300 and Administration Fee – RM200).
STEP 2: Forward Application/Registration Form to Student Administration.
STEP 3: Pass back The Application/Registration Form to applicant to make payment at Finance Department.
STEP 4: Finance Department forward the Application/Registration Form and Payment Receipt for CPDLLL to process.
STEP 5: If approved, CPDLLL will issue “Letter of Offer” immediately.
STEP 6: Application Form to be kept by CPDLLL for record.
