BERJAYA UCH strengthens ties with Burapha University, Thailand

In an effort to promote co-operative education amongst ASEAN universities, BERJAYA University College of Hospitality (BERJAYA UCH)  and Burapha University, Faculty of Management and Tourism (BUU) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining their plans to work together to provide students and staff extensive experience through cross cultural  exchange programmes and internships.

Call for Papers for Academic Conference

In conjunction with the 3rd International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility and EUMCCI’s Social Responsibility Week 2012, the BERJAYA University College of Hospitality, Malaysia and European Union Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI), invites faculty members, students, and CSR practitioners to submit proposals for academic papers in the area sustainability, CSR, Social Enterprise and Responsible Business and Management for the academic conference.

The topic for 2012 is “Foundations of Social Enterprise” focusing on the opportunities for sustainable business collaborations within Social Enterprises and Corporate Foundations. BERJAYA University college of Hospitality and European Union Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI) will be hosting the EUMCCI CSR CONFERENCE’12 is on 24th -27th September 2012 at BERJAYA Time square hotel. The Academic Conference is on 27th September 2012. Please refer the attachment for Conference details.

Selected papers will be edited by an international panel of academic experts in the fieldand published in the special edition of the International Journal Business Innovation and Research of the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth; The Global Journal Al-Thaqafah of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM); and the Malaysian Management Review of Malaysian Institute of Management(MIM).

KUALA LUMPUR: BERJAYA University College of Hospitality is proud to host the Chaine des Rotisseurs “Best Commis Rotisseurs” Malaysia 2012 at the School of Culinary Arts. In a nutshell, a commis is a basic chef who works under a chef de partie to learn the station’s responsibilities and operation. In other words, a commis is a chef who has just completed his culinary training.

Chef Bruce’s new book entitled –“Inside a Chef’s Life” is a collection of up to 60 recipes that actually reveals the development of Chef Bruce from an enthusiastic foodie to who he is today, a culinary expert. From special cooking techniques to new insights of cooking, all these elements could be found in the book!

In collaboration with BERJAYA University College of Hospitality and the Malaysia Barista Association, CT&I Magazine (Coffee, Tea & Ice Cream) Conference Kuala Lumpur launched its first coffee themed conference. From near and far, fifty-four influential gourmet coffee enthusiasts, coffee business ventures, barista champions, coffee educators and caffeine junkies attended this event to celebrate the love for the glorified aromatic bean.

The sessions were educational as well as exceptionally presented. Keynote speaker, Van Lin Tung -Yuan who co-founded a Taiwanese-Italian -themed cafe called GABEE gave a presentation about his successful cafe management systems, brand strategies and more.
