All classes/lessons are to be conducted through Course Networking and/or other electronic platform managed by the respective lecturers and Faculties.

The Senior Management of BUC has also decided on the following:
• The revised academic calendar for January 2020 semester remains unchanged;
• All paper-based examination will commence on 20th April 2020;
• The non-paper-based examination (i.e. Practical exam and Lab-based exam) will commence thereafter the paper-based examination i.e. 27th April 2020 onwards. This will be coordinated by the respective Schools/Faculties;
• Necessary precaution will be exercised prior to entering the examination venue. Students will have to go through body temperature screening at the main entrance, hand sanitizer will be provided, and seating arrangement with reasonable social distancing;
• Students will be constantly guided and communicated with by their lecturers in preparing them for the final examination through the available electronic platforms such as CN, WhatsApp group, etc.;
• A student who is in genuinely facing a really difficult situation (such as illness) is allowed to defer his/her examination; and
• Commencement of the May 2020 semester will remain unchanged which means the semester break will be shortened.

We prioritise the welfare of our students above all. Be assured that we will not disadvantage our dear students in whatever way especially during this challenging time. The grading of your assessment/examination will be “objective-based” taken into account the difficult situation without compromising the objectives of our outcome-based education.

All these decisions will take effect unless further directives are received from the relevant authorities. We shall keep everyone updated with the latest information from time to time.

Dear all students of BERJAYA University College (BUC) & BERJAYA TVET College,

On the 16th of March 2020, the Government of Malaysia has announced that the entire country will be enforcing a restricted movement order with effect from Wednesday, 18th March 2020 to Tuesday, 31st March 2020 to deal with the COVID-19 situation.

In compliance with this directive, BUC and BTVET College will be closed from Wednesday, 18th March 2020 to Tuesday, 31st March 2020. All classes/lessons are to be conducted through Course Networking and/or other electronic platform managed by the respective lecturers and Faculties.

However, to facilitate the return of our students after the 31st of March 2020, normal operations will commence on 6th of April at the earliest. Should the COVID-19 situation not normalize by then, this date will be further revised.

All paper-based final examination will be rescheduled to 20th April 2020 (Monday) onwards. The examination unit, under the Office of the Registrar, will make an announcement on the revised examination schedule later. Other than paper-based final examination, the schedule for practical-based and language proficiency final examinations will be managed by the respective Faculty/School through a separate announcement. Stay tuned on your Course Networking (CN).

For students who are living in Kuala Lumpur or Klang Valley, please note that the supermarkets, grocery stores and stores selling basic necessities will be operational during this time.

Dr See Hoon Peow is the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer for Berjaya University College. Bringing along with him, more than 20 years of experience in the education industry, Dr See is well-known for his wit and dynamic leadership.

His journey in the education industry started way back in 1996.  In the year, 2004 he was appointed as Principal of a prestigious Chinese Independent School, making him the youngest principal at that time. Since then, he has never looked back but continued to thrive in his passion to make a difference in the education industry.

Prior to joining Berjaya UC, he was the Principal to a few colleges and Executive Vice President (also Associate Professor) of a renowned University in Klang Valley; in which, under his leadership, one of the colleges was upgraded to University College status. Amongst his achievement, to name a few; was becoming founding principal of a College and the founding Director of the second Confucius Institute in Malaysia; and also turning around a financially burdened college in the short span of two years.

Dr See earned both his Master of Philosophy from University of Malaya and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from International Islamic University, Malaysia, as a part-time student for a total of 7 years. Prior to that, he completed his LLB (Hons) from University of Glamorgan, UK (now University of South Wales).

He has published numerous academic papers despite his busy schedule, that includes publishing 4 books, 2 booklets, more than 20 papers in reputable journals (including ISI/Scopus indexed journals), books/proceedings and conferences. He has achieved a reputation in research on issues related to education, culture and the Chinese in Malaysia. He also speaks regularly at conferences and seminars; and writes regularly on similar issues in the Malaysian media.

His dedication towards education and scholarship, is the force behind him being an active member of various associations, where he holds and has held directorship and membership, including the Good Shepherd Kindergartens and Centre for Malaysian Chinese Studies etc.
