Founded in London in 1969, The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) provides high quality education and training in wines and spirits. The WSET curriculum offers more than Sommelier education as it covers not only wines but also spirits, and since August 2014, sake has been included into the curriculum. WSET has grown into a leading international body in the field of wines and spirits education, with a suite of sought-after qualifications. Today, WSET is a pre-requisite for entry into the international careers in the wine and spirits industry. As a fully accredited programme provider, the WSET detailed wine and spirits curriculum are placed under the professional care of expert trainers within the world class facilities of Berjaya Higher Education to ensure quality delivery.

WSET Level 1

A one day course, class is a combination of fun, theory, practical workshop with tastings and food pairing. This includes study pack, examination with six free glassware.

COURSE CONTENT

  • The main styles of wine
  • The WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine
  • The characteristics of the common grape varieties used to produce wine
  • Service of wine
  • Health, safety and legal issues
  • The pairing of food and wine

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Passionate about wines and spirits

WSET Level 2

A three day course, class is a combination of fun, theory, practical workshop with tastings and food pairing. This includes study pack, examination with six free glassware.

  • Key white grape varieties
  • Key black grape varieties
  • Wine-producing regions of the world
  • Sparkling wines
  • Sweet wines and fortified wines
