What we do

The Department of Student Affairs offers students the support services in order to enhance their academic, social, cultural and personal development throughout their studies at BERJAYA University College.

The Department of Student Affairs is a place where students can go to find information, guidance and advice. The support services are intended to facilitate students’ transition and adjustment to the university college environment to allow students to perform better academically as they strive towards developing themselves for a successful profession.

The operating hours for the Department of Student Affairs are as follows:

  • Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Closed on Weekends and Public Holidays

FAQ's

The orientation at BERJAYA University College is the first step in ensuring that new students have a successful transition into University College life. All new students are strongly encouraged to attend the orientation.

The orientation is typically a three day event and formally begins with registration at 8.00 a.m. on the first day. The orientation will conclude no later than 6.00 p.m. on each day.

During the orientation, students will have the chance to meet representatives from various departments. Students are able to acquire information on the services and resources available on campus.

The itinerary for the orientation will be sent to all registered students via e-mail at least one week before the orientation. All correspondence will be sent to the email address that is provided on the registration form.

The BERJAYA University College Student Council will begin the recruitment of volunteers at least one month before the orientation via an online registration form (i.e. Google Form).

Further information pertaining to the recruitment of volunteers for the upcoming orientation will be announced via the CourseNetworking portal.

The Student Council is the student governing body within BERJAYA University College. The Student Council serves as the liaison between the student body and the management. The Student Council works collaboratively with the management for the benefit of the University College and students.

The Student Council Election is held within the January trimester. Any student at BERJAYA University College is eligible to run for election, so long as they meet the eligibility requirements.

All student activities are posted online via the Department of Student Services Facebook account on the BERJAYA University College Facebook group and on the CourseNetworking portal.

Information pertaining to a particular club or society can be found on their respective individualized Facebook page. Here is a list of all the club and societies at BERJAYA University College.

Additionally, a Recruitment Fair for the clubs and societies will be held on Week 3 of each trimester.

Students may visit each club and society booth to get more information and to register as a member.

Students may seek counselling services by:

  • Walking in to the Department of Student Services, any time from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
  • Emailing the Student Counsellor at naga.jothi@berjaya.edu.my.
  • Contacting the Student Counsellor by phone call by dialling +603 2687 7065.

Yes. Confidentiality is the most important part in counselling. The information that you share with the counsellor will not be disclosed to anyone without your permission.

Nonetheless, there are a few exceptions to confidentiality such as when there is tendency of harm to self or others, where disclosure may be necessary.

For answers to quick questions, students may simply walk-in to the Department of Student Services between 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

For a more in-depth help, including career exploration, internship search assistance and job search assistance, students may proceed to the Department of Student Services or call +603 2687 7000 to schedule an appointment.

The Department of Student Services offers a number of career services to help students connect with employers and to locate job openings.

The annual BERJAYA University College Career Fair brings employers from many different industries including hotels, restaurants, event managing companies, tourism companies, retail companies and many more.

The career fair provides students with an opportunity to explore career opportunities and network with professionals in their field of interest.

While many employers will be recruiting for openings that currently exist, some employers will attend to share information about their organizations and to collect resumes for possible future openings.

Student locker rentals at BERJAYA University College are managed and administered through the Department of Student Services. All BERJAYA University College and BERJAYA TVET College students may rent a locker.

Students may acquire the Student Locker Rental Form from the Department of Student Services. Allocation of lockers are on a first come, first served basis. The Department of Student Services will not entertain any correspondence, enquiries or attempts for bookings.

The rental rates of the student locker are as follows:

  • Metal Locker : RM 50.00 per semester
  • Wooden Locker: RM 60.00 per semester

Lockers are available for rental on semester basis in various locations throughout the campus. Rental period dates are:

  • January to April
  • May to August
  • September to December

As a courtesy, an announcement on the upcoming locker expirations will be made via the CourseNetworking portal prior to the expiration date. Nonetheless, it is each student’s responsibility to be aware as to when the locker rental expires.

The Department of Student Services reserves the right to clean out any contents left in the locker after the expiration date. Locker contents will be held for a period of one trimester. Unclaimed contents will be disposed without reimbursement.

The Department of Student Services is the central repository for items lost and found on campus. Students or staff of BERJAYA University College of BERJAYA TVET College who have lost their items on campus may lodge a report at Department of Student Services by filling in the Lost and Found Report form.

Found items can be turned in at the Department of Student Services. Once an item is turned in, the Department of Student Services will attempt to process it as quickly as possible. This can include examining the item for any name or contact information that could link the item to a possible owner.

In the event of an accident or illness requiring first aid, assistance may be sought from any of the staff at the Department of Student Services.

There is one sick bay available on campus located on the 11th floor. The sick bay is available for both staff and students who are feeling unwell to rest or require immediate basic first aid treatment. The sick bay is equipped with basic necessities such as a bed, wheelchair and first aid kit.
